We Sail on in darkness
stories of faith and mysticism
Featuring the stories of four Christian mystics (Perpetua, Hildegard of Bingen, Angela of Foligno, and Julian of Norwich) as well as a chorus of Desert Mothers, this play takes a contemplative and moving look at the love of God and how it is manifested through suffering.
Using movement and music, the women move in and out of each other's stories as they seek to find courage for their own troubled journeys, and provide us all with a chance to mourn, be still, and rejoice not only in our union with God, but also in the fellowship of our brothers and sisters who have gone before and who will come after.
